With your booking on this website you are declaring that you have read, understood and accepted all our Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any component of these terms you must stop and not proceed with your booking. Our service
Carex rent a car provides cheap car rental for your travel, business or any other purpose. We aim to offer relevant price quotes for your journey needs, and from time to time we have discounted vehicles. Customers who rent a car two times or more receive a special discount coupon code and have the opportunity to select their favourite car at discounted prices during the booking period.
We offer different car rental deals, such as picking up and dropping off at our office, hotels, airports (Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Kopitnari, Batumi, Mestia) or any other place in Georgia.
Requested documentation and signing the rental agreement
The renter is requested to send us a copy of their passport and driver's license. Getting a car takes on average 10–15 minutes.
Driver's license
Every license printed in the Latin or Cyrillic alphabet is valid in Georgia for one year after your arrival. The driver who drives the rental car must hold a valid driving license and have at least two years of driving experience — otherwise they will not be able to hire a car from our company.
Booking procedure
We have a simple booking procedure on our website — three easy steps: search, select, book. You can book a car in three different ways:
- Make an online reservation on our web page www.carex.ge.
- Email reservation at carexrentcar@gmail.com — send us your message and we will answer you immediately.
- Phone reservation on our hotline +995 511 43 40 40 (24/7 service).
Cancellation and change of your reservation
If your reservation has already been confirmed by our company, you can cancel it yourself on our website up to 24 hours before the rental period starts. If you want to change the order data — date, time, length, etc. — you must write to us at carexrentcar@gmail.com up to 24 hours before the rental period starts.
Rental price and payment currency
Rental prices include:
- All taxes;
- 100% car insurance;
- Unlimited mileage;
- Driver's insurance.
Lari is the currency of Georgia. Its currency code is GEL, and one Lari is divided into 100 Tetri. If a customer has banknotes in another currency, for example EUR or USD, we will help them exchange it according to the official exchange rate of the National Bank of Georgia.
Some important aspects of the insurance policy
Each car is insured by a leading company in Georgia. The company covers 100% of all traffic accident damage, natural disasters, theft, etc. In case of an accident the driver pays nothing for the car or third-party damage. If the driver causes an accident, they pay only the administrative penalty for violating traffic rules.
The driver and passengers' lives are insured up to $10,000. To raise the life insurance amount to $20,000 or $50,000, you must send us copies of your passport four days earlier (at least one of which must be a working day) before the rental period. There is an additional fee of €20 to increase insurance to $20,000 and €50 to increase it to $50,000.
According to the insurance policy, the driver of a hired car must obey these rules:
- The driver should be at least 21 years old;
- The driver must have at least 24 months of driving experience;
- The driver should not drive under the influence;
- The driver must not move the rental car from the accident place and must immediately call the police, as well as our office and the insurance company.
In case of an accident, it is prohibited to move the car before the police complete the necessary paperwork. The renter is obliged to call our office and the insurance company to report the accident. Otherwise, the insurance company is not responsible for reimbursing any damage.
Customers are obliged not to damage tires during off-road driving, because tire damage is not considered accidental damage by any insurance company in Georgia and the expenses are therefore not covered. The driver is responsible for tire damage; the fee ranges from $50 to $70.
The insurance policy includes Assistance Service
This means:
- In case of a flat tire, the insurance company's representative will help the customer replace it.
- If the car runs out of fuel, the insurance company will provide enough fuel to reach the nearest petrol station. In this case the driver/customer pays the fuel price in cash to the representative.
- If the car battery runs low, the insurance company's representative will help the customer start the car.
- If the rental car breaks down, the insurance company will send a tow truck to help the customer reach the nearest auto service.
Deposit
No deposit.
- A standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) does not cover damage to the vehicle's wheels, windscreen, windows and underbody. A police report of the incident is required.
- Super CDW (SCDW) also covers the windscreen and tire damage. A police report of the incident is required.
Customer support service
If customers have problems with the rental car, they must phone our office immediately. The technical group will be sent to their location and the car will be either repaired or replaced with a similar one.
Customer's responsibilities
Customers have to follow the rules below. It is prohibited to consume alcoholic beverages and/or be under the influence of any narcotic substance while driving. The rental car must not be transferred to a third party who is:
- A minor;
- A person without a driving license;
- A person under the influence of alcoholic beverages and/or narcotic substances.
Adhere to the traffic rules
- Seat belts must be used while driving by the driver as well as the front-seat passenger.
- Do not breach the legislation of the country where the vehicle is driven.
- Immediately notify the office if the vehicle is damaged.
- Protect the car from damage and keep it safe.
- Compensate the lessor if, upon return of the vehicle, it is identified that damage and/or harm has been incurred.
- Pay any fee/penalty levied as a result of violations of the traffic rules and/or legislation during the operation of the vehicle.
- The car must be returned with the same amount of fuel that was given out.
Speed limit in Georgia
The legal speed limit in towns and cities is approximately 50–60 km/h, and on highways 110 km/h. Special traffic signs for speed limits are installed along the roads and highways.
Mileage
During the rental period the mileage is unlimited after 2 days.
Border crossing procedure
It is possible to cross the border and take the car to Armenia. In this case you need special permission approved by a notary, which costs $50–$70. Please send the request three days earlier (one of which must be a working day) together with a copy of your passport.
Conflict zones in Georgia
There are two conflict zones in Georgia, the so-called South Ossetia and Abkhazia. The borders are closed and it is forbidden to cross them with our rental car. Entrance is also prohibited to the regions of Omalo, Juta, Tusheti, Goderdzi and Ushguli.
